Jump-start your job search at Arapahoe/Douglas Works!

During Workforce Development Month in September, the Arapahoe/Douglas Works workforce center in Greenwood Village will offer special events and resources to give job-seekers a competitive edge.

Job seekers are sure to love the new Arapahoe/Douglas Works! web site at www.adworks.org, which offers a job search toolbox, a calendar of events and easy access to job listings. The site features a new tool called CareerCoach, which collects job openings from across the internet in a single search, and then goes the extra step to suggest openings in different careers that might fit your skill set.

Mark your calendar for the Career Event in Aurora, Sept. 20, an exciting hiring event with more than 25 major employers.

You can brush up on your job-search skills beforehand at one of the workforce center’s free workshops on résumés., cover letters, networking, salary negotiation and other helpful topics. While you’re at the workforce center, enjoy free access to computers with internet, courtesy phones, reference materials, job postings and more. You can also ask a staff member to critique your résumé, get career or education guidance, or take a career or personality assessment to identify your strengths and skills.

Want to learn more? Call 303-636-1160 or attend the “Discovering Arapahoe/Douglas Works!” workshop, offered at 9 a.m. every Tuesday in September to learn more about the workforce center’s free services, programs and workshops.

County offices will be closed Sept. 6 in observance of Labor Day.
