Permitting and Inspections
The Engineering Services Division has field staff committed to permitting and inspecting of infrastructure approved by the Engineering Services review engineers and for the permitting and inspection of various utilities within the public right-of-way.
Permits
Annual Utility Maintenance Permit
- Permit is used by Utility Agency for routine maintenance of facilities within the public ROW
- Required for projects that include work within designated 100-year floodplain limits of major drainageways
Grading, Erosion, and Sediment Control (GESC) Permit
- Required for all land disturbing activities within the unincorporated areas of the County
- Required for projects with a disturbed area less than one acre where minor impacts can be adequately demonstrated to the Engineering Services Division and streamlined submittal requirements apply
- Required for transportation of vehicles or material, which exceed size or weight requirements as established by the State of Colorado or Arapahoe County
- Required for all public stormwater facilities, any improvements within County right-of-way and construction within dedicated easements
- Required for construction, removal, repair or maintenance of utilities and other facilities in the public right-of-way
- Required for the construction or modifications of access points from private property to County roadways or Access from Public Right-of-Way to private property or utility easements
- Required to be obtained prior to the placement, removal or modification to any traffic signs, striping or signals maintained by Arapahoe County
