Renewal notices are mailed during the month of expiration.
- There is a 30-day grace period as long as the vehicle remains in Colorado.
- If the renewal is mailed in during the grace period, we cannot guarantee that you will receive your registration and stickers
before the registration expires.
- Be sure to include proof of emission if needed.
- Include proof of insurance if needed.
- Put any address changes on the back of the renewal notice.
- If your address changes prior to or after your renewal month, please mail, e-mail, fax or come into the office to make that change.
- There is a $2.00 mailing fee if new plates need to be mailed at time of renewal.
- If you no longer own the vehicle, you may disregard the notice.
Renewal from another County The requirements are the same as above except the need to verify fees.
- Please call our office at 303-795-4500 to verify your renewal fees, or you can e-mail us.
- We will need the license plate number, VIN and your new address.
- Include proof of emission if needed.
- Include proof of insurance if needed.
Renewal fee mailed in with Title Change As long as one name remains the same on the title, the same plates may be used. The title needs to be signed off, notarized
if applicable, new emissions if needed, as long as renewal is not expired, send correct renewal fees and $9.50 title fee.
If customer needs new plates, there is a $2 mailing fee.
