Scientific and Cultural Facilities
The Cultural Council in Arapahoe County consists of 13 members who review the applications received from eligible area groups. The
Council then recommends the level of Scientific and Cultural Facilities District funding for various projects that represent
a good mix of cultural and scientific offerings to the Arapahoe County community. The Board of County Commissioners reviews
the recommendations and officially adopts a plan for the disbursement of grants for Arapahoe County's share of SCFD funding
for submittal to the SCFD Board of Directors for approval and disbursement.
The 13 members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to serve two-year terms. To apply for a volunteer position

The application period closes in mid-March or each year for groups interested in applying for funding through the Cultural Council. Application notices are published prior to the deadline.
