
The Children, Youth and Family Services Division provides protective services to children and teens, as well as foster care,
adoption, adolescent services, teen parent programs and other services that help create strong, effective families.
The vision of this division is to work in partnership with families and our community to assure that all people in Arapahoe
County are free from abuse and neglect.

Our Child Protective Services receives and investigates reports of suspected child abuse or neglect.Families who are assessed to need intervention are offered a variety of services designed to make the family and home safe for the child Case Aides work to ensure that the well being of children is protected; while enhancing family strengths through respect, support and
guidance. Typical services might include:
Our Collaborative Foster Care Program, in conjunction with Jefferson County, recruits and retains foster care and kinship care homes for children whohave suffered loss orare victims of abuse or neglect and have been removed from unsafe environments.
Our Adoption Program works to find 'forever families' for children who have become adoptable, or legally free, because the biological parent's
parental rights have been terminated by the Juvenile court due to abuse, neglect, abandonment or exploitation.If you are interested in fostering or adopting a child, please call 303-636-1KID.
Our Adolescent Services work to alleviate conflicts and re-establish family stability, or assist youth to emancipate successfully. A family must
take advantage of all available community resources and have exhausted their private insurance options prior to Human Service
involvement.OurAdolescent Servicesoffer on-going support to teens with serious problems in school, lack of respect for authority, drug or alcohol involvement,
sever legal involvement, conflicted family relationships and runaways.
Our Domestic Relations unit provides court-ordered child and family investigator services and evaluations on the allocation of parental responsibilities
to assist the Arapahoe County District Court judges and families with devising a schedule outlining what parental rights and
responsibilities each parent shall manage following separations and divorce.
Our Teen Parent Program advocates for a physically and emotionally healthy environment for adolescent parents and their children. The target population
is pregnant and parenting teen moms and dads primarily between the ages of 12 and 18 who have open cases with Human Services.
