The Teen Parent Program advocates for a physically and emotionally healthy environment for adolescent parents and their children. The
target population is pregnant and parenting teen moms and dads primarily between the ages of 12 and 18 who have open cases
with Human Services. The goals of the teen parent program are:
- to empower teen parents to maximize their parenting abilities and life skills;
- to prepare teens for emancipation and independent living;
- to promote self esteem;
- to prevent additional pregnancies; and
- to support early permanence for children.
Through early and intensive intervention, the Teen Parent Program assesses the strengths and needs of teen parents, children
and their families. Case plans are developed and implemented to support the parent and child relationship while moving to
a permanent plan as soon as possible. The Teen Parent Program provides specialized services including:
- frequent client contact;
- a multi-systemic approach;
- bi-monthly group for emancipated parents; and
- all services that are available through Expedited Permanency Planning.
To report abuse or neglect concerns involving teen parents, please call 303-636-1750.
