Arapahoe County honors the brave men and women who actively serve or have served in the United States Armed Forces. We understand that current military personnel and veterans face unique challenges and make extraordinary sacrifices for their country. That may mean that hardship finds its way into the homes and lives of service members. 

The Arapahoe County Military Family Assistance Program works to address the unmet needs of military personnel and their families who reside in Arapahoe County.

This collaborative program between Arapahoe County Department of Human Services and FamilyTree connects military families with communityservices and resources, such as employment, housing, food,clothing, counseling, education and more.

Who Can Participate?

Program participants must reside in Arapahoe County AND meet one of the following criteria:

  • Veterans and active duty personnel with children
  • Spouses and ex-spouses with children of active duty personnel or veterans
  • Widows/widowers with children of veterans
  • Active duty personnel and veterans who are non-custodial parents

Services and Referrals

The program provides services and referrals for the following needs:

  • Referrals to military-related assistance
  • Job training, education and support
  • Housing assistance
  • Medical, dental and optical referrals
  • School clothes and supplies
  • Holiday assistance
  • Utilities assistance
  • Mental health, substance abuse and family counseling
  • Extracurricular activities for children
  • Groups and workshops
  • Budgeting assistance

The program also connects families to services provided throughArapahoeCounty, including:

  • Cash assistance
  • Food assistance
  • Medical assistance
  • Child care assistance
