
The Arapahoe County Community Support Services Division offers several Financial and Medical Assistance Programs to help low-income families and individuals, including children, the elderly and disabled. Each program has different requirements
for eligibility and may require different documents for verification of circumstances. These links below provide basic information
about who is eligible, services available, and the application process.Several programs require a face-to-face interview to be approved for benefits. All programs require an application and supporting

In addition, this Division provides Adult Protection Services for individuals 18 years and older who are susceptible to mistreatment or self-neglect because they are unable to perform
or obtain services necessary for their own health, safety or welfare. Adult Protection Services also serves individuals who lack
sufficient understanding or capacity to make or communicate responsible decisions concerning their affairs. If you suspect

COLORADO FINANCIAL, MEDICAL & FOOD ASSISTANCE APPLICATION
Adult Medical – may help eligible individuals pay for Medicare premiums.
Adult Protective Services – investigates allegations of abuse, neglect, self-neglect or exploitation of adults over age 18who are susceptible to mistreatment or self-neglect because they are unable to perform or obtain services necessary for their own health, safety or welfare.
Aid to the Needy Disabled (AND) & Aid to the Blind (AB) – is a financial assistance program for individuals temporarily or permanently unable to work due to disability.
Child Care Assistance (CCAP) – is provided to families who qualify based on family size and gross family income. Benefits are available for children birth
through age 12.
Child Health Plan Plus (CHP) – is a low-cost health and dental insurance for Colorado children.
ColoradoWorks (TANF) – provides cost-of-living assistance to eligible low-income families or women who are six months pregnant or more.
Family Medicaid (FM) – Medicaid provides assistance with medical expenses through two programs - Medicaid and CHP+ - for children up to 19 years
old.
Food Assistance (FA)– helps low-income families supplement their nutritional needs by providing financial assistance to purchase food.
General Assistance – is emergency assistance available to families or individuals who are not currently on public assistance.
Long Term Care – provides assistance to individuals who are Medicaid-eligible and at-risk of placement in a nursing facility.
Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) – helps needy families pay a percentage of their winter heating costs and is available from November through April each year.
Military Family Assistance Program –connects military families with communityservices and resources, such as employment, housing, food, clothing, counseling, education and more.
Old Age Pension (OAP) – provides financial help for residents age 60 or older with little or no income, and provides Medicaid for eligible applicants.
Quest Card – All food assistance and cash benefits are credited to an Electronic Benefit Transfer Card, called the Colorado Quest card.
