Adult Protective Services serves individuals 18 years and older who are susceptible to mistreatment or self-neglect because
they are unable to perform or obtain services necessary for their own health, safety or welfare. Adult Protective Services
also serves individuals who lack sufficient understanding or capacity to make or communicate responsible decisions concerning
their affairs.
If you have concerns that someone you know is being abused or neglected, or that their money is being taken from them, or
that someone is living alone and seems to be no longer able to care for themselves, please call Human Services to report your
concerns, at 303-636-1130.
Adult Protection Services include:
- receiving and investigating reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation,
- assessment and counseling, and
- service coordination and referrals to services providers.
If you are considering placing a loved one into a placement facility you may contact the Colorado Department of Public Health
at 303-692-2800 to obtain information about complaints or health code violations of a particular facility.
