The Legal Division is a section of the Arapahoe County Attorney's Office assigned to the Department of Human Services. The
legal division represents the department in a variety of court actions, such as child abuse or neglect, adult protection,
or mental health cases. The legal division also handles requests for department records through the custodian of records.
Guardians ad litem (GAL) are appointed by the courts in individual cases.
