    Public Trustee's Biography

The Public Trustee handles Foreclosures of Deeds of Trust, Releases of Deeds of Trust and Tax Escrow Accounts for Land Purchase Contracts for properties located in Arapahoe County. The Public Trustee is appointed by the Governor and the powers, duties and procedures for the operation of the office are defined in Title 38 of the Colorado Revised Statutes. The Public Trustee does not:

  • Handle Tax Sales. Please contact the County Treasurer.
  • Release private trustee mortgage transactions.
  • Handle Federal auctions, such as HUD or VA.

The Arapahoe County Public Trustee holds foreclosure sales at 10 a.m. Wednesdays in the East Hearing Room of the County Administration Building, 5334 South Prince Street, Littleton, Colorado.

Notice Regarding Proposed Changes in Foreclosure Sale Policy

NOTICE TO AN OWNER IN FORECLOSURE:  If your property goes to foreclosure auction sale and is purchased for more than the total owed to the lender and to all other lien holders, please contact the public trustee’s office after the sale because you may have funds due to you C.R.S. 38-38-111 (2.5)(a)
