Arapahoe County has been establishing a Horizontal Control Network within the County for the past fifteen years. To date we have completed 12 projects that include the eastern 42 miles of the County and the majority of the urban area. A thirteenth project, in the Watkins area, is currently underway.

The purpose of these projects is to obtain precise geodetic information on section and quarter section corners of the Public Land Survey System, and the resulting bearings and distances between the corners, for use by the Mapping and Land Surveying communities.

Please read the cover sheet of each individual project for the methodology and accuracy standards for the project. Full survey reports for each individual project are on file in the offices of the Mapping Section.

It should be stated that, except when noted, only monuments supported by Land Survey Monument Records filed with the State Board of Licensure for Architects, Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors have been used in these projects. Arapahoe County and the responsible Land Surveyor make no warranties, either expressed or implied, as to the accuracy of the record monuments. It should also be noted that current monumentation might not be the same as the monumentation existing at the time of a project.
