Neighborhood and community parks are a staple for county residents. They are home to birthday parties, afternoon picnics,
family play time and a refuge from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
There are hundreds of parks throughout Arapahoe County, most of which are owned and operated by cities and recreation districts.
During the past six years, Open Space Shareback and Grant funds have helped to create new parks and renovate others.
In 2011 Arapahoe County awarded nearly $2.5 million in competitive grants to help cities and recreation districts complete
16 open space, parks and trails projects.
