
Qualifications
1. Guidelines for determining an inmate’s suitability to participate in the ASP program are:
a) Current charges.
b) Prior criminal history
c) Place of employment
d) Conduct in general population while awaiting ASP.
2. No applicant shall be approved for participation in the ASP program without the consent of the Sheriff or his designee
whenever there is evidence the applicant;
a) Associates with organized crime.
b) Has pending additional charges.
c) Has been convicted of or is charged with sexual and/or assault offenses.
d) Demonstrates a behavior pattern that may create an adverse public reaction to the participant, the ASP program, or the
Sheriff’s Office.
e) Has been convicted or is charged with a physical domestic violence.
f) Has an active restraining order or has violated a restraining order.
g) All applicants will be reviewed on case-by-case bases.
Requirements:
a) Sentencing courts written recommendation and Sheriff’s Office final approval.
b) Minimum sentence of 10 days for Work Release and Home Detention.
c) Minimum sentence of 365 days for the MOP program.
d) Employment must be legal, lawful and suitable.
e) Employment and job sites will be restricted to the ASP map boundaries.
f) Participant must bring required funds as shown on “Program Costs” on this site.
Conditions of Alternative Sentencing Programs:
a) Obey all orders given by an ACSO deputy, obey detention and program rules.
b) Obey the laws in the state of Colorado including its counties and municipalities.
c) Do not consume alcohol or any illegal drugs.
d) Maintain cleanliness in the dayrooms and assigned housing area.
e) Submit and allow searches of your person and property.
f) Do not possess contraband. Unauthorized articles will be confiscated.
g) Clothing must be appropriate attire and you must adhere to the dress code.
h) Participant is responsible for the cost of his or her own health/dental care.
i) Participant must agree to the daily-assessed fee.
j) Participant provides own transportation or uses the public transportation.
k) Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance to drive your own vehicle.
l) Submit payments through the Kiosk system to cover program fees, cash or credit cards only.
m) Report directly to work and/or your scheduled events then back to the ASP facility.
n) Work no more than 60 hours per week and have 1 full day off which you will remain in the facility.
Weekender Program Only
Within 2 days after sentencing call 720-874-3302 to apply for the Weekender Program.
a) If accepted onto the program, an ASP staff member will email you and or call you to schedule you a report date according
to bed space.
b) Report to the Arapahoe County Detention Facility, Alternative Sentencing Programs on the date and time ordered by a staff
member of the Sheriff’s Office.
c) When you report to the detention facility for the initial booking process it is required you bring $80.00 cash only, your
court paperwork, and picture I.D. $30.00 of the required amount is to pay for the initial booking fee and the $50 will pay
for your first weekend.
d) Weekender Program sentence can be served on Saturday to Sunday, Tuesday to Wednesday or Thursday to Friday. Reporting time
is 8:00 am.
e) Minimum sentence is 1 weekend and maximum sentence is 15 weekends.
f) The cost is $50.00 per weekend. Bring $50 cash with you for each weekend you report.
g) Participants that arrive intoxicated (alcohol or drugs) will be placed in detox and held over for the following court date.
h) You will be held for 33 hours per weekend instead of 48 hours. Therefore 15 hours is good time credits built into the weekend
sentence ordered by the court.
i) Participants will attend a verbal orientation and weekender “Terms and Conditions” will be signed.
j) Charges are public information and can/will be reveled upon request.
k) Conditions of the Alternative Sentencing Programs stated in this pamphlet apply to weekender participants also except for
letters M and N.
