On 02/14/08, at approximately 1219 a.m., Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) deputies responded to Finn McCool’s, located at

8880 East Arapahoe Road

on report of a disturbance. ACSO deputies arrived on scene and contacted the victim, who had been stabbed in the left torso three times.  The on scene investigation by ACSO patrol deputies revealed that the victim was attempting to break up a fight, when he was stabbed by an unknown male, only described as:

  • White male
  • Early 20s
  • 5’9”
  • 165 pounds
  • Short, shaved hair
  • Wearing baseball cap, white t-shirt and blue jeans
  • Unknown type tattoo on his neck

The victim was attempting to break up a fight between a friend of his and a second unknown person when he was stabbed.

ACSO patrol deputies received a description of the vehicles that were seen leaving Finn McCool’s.  One of the subjects was contacted on a traffic stop, but the stabbing suspect was not located. ACSO patrol deputies conducted a search of the area in an attempt to locate a weapon and/or any other suspects, but were unsuccessful.

ACSO lab personnel responded to the scene to process the scene.

ACSO patrol deputies reported that the victim remained conscious and breathing, and is at a local hospital receiving treatment for his stab wounds.

On 02/15/08, ACSO investigators were able to conduct numerous interviews simultaneously and were able to identify the stabbing suspect. ACSO investigators, along with lab personnel, responded to a location where the suspect was staying, a local hotel, but just missed the suspect by a couple of hours.  However, they were able to process the room where the suspect had been staying.

ACSO investigators were able to obtain an arrest warrant for the suspect with and on-call Arapahoe County judge. The information investigators had at this point was that the suspect lived with another female down in Colorado Springs.

ACSO investigators faxed the arrest warrant to a Colorado Springs Police Department patrol sergeant, who established surveillance on the possible location where the suspect had been staying.

On 02/19/08, Colorado Department of Corrections parole officers were able to make contact with the suspect at his Colorado Springs residence and were able to place the suspect into custody on the active warrant out of Arapahoe County. The active warrant was for Criminal Attempt-First Degree Murder, Felony Menacing and Second Degree Assault.

Department of Corrections parole officers were able to violate the suspect on his parole, due to the fact that the suspect committed a new crime while he was already on parole.

On 02/19/08 ACSO Investigators responded to the Colorado Department of Corrections offices in Colorado Springs where investigators recovered two knives and ammunition that was recovered from the suspect at the time of his arrest.

The suspect is currently in the Arapahoe County Jail on the above charges.
