
Business owner arrested after interfering with officers on traffic stop On March 8, 2010, at approximately 10:30 AM Deputy’s McArthur and Wood stopped a vehicle in the area of 1100 S Quebec Street
for a traffic violation. While contacting the violator, a second vehicle pulled up to the patrol car where the occupant told
deputies to move their vehicle which was parked near his business. When asked to move away for their safety, the business
owner refused; instead exiting his vehicle and taking a defensive stance against the deputies.
The owner was subsequently arrested and charged with Obstructing a Peace Officer and Resisting Arrest.
Armed robber surprises employees as they open for business On March 10, 2010, at approximately 7:45 AM Deputies responded to the Colorado Community Bank reference a robbery that just
occurred. According to the victims, upon entering the bank they were confronted by a male suspect who displayed a weapon and
ordered to open the vault. Once inside the vault, the victims were told to lie on the floor while the suspect placed and
undisclosed amount of money in a bag before leaving.
Prior to the robbery, witnesses observed the suspect walking around the shopping center and described him as a white male,
early 30’s, 5’10” – 5’11”, thin build.
The case is still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and FBI.
Medical marijuana becomes target of robbery in parking lot
On March 15, 2010, at approximately 7:30 PM Deputies responded to a physical disturbance in the parking lot at 2281 S Parker
Road. According to the victim, he agreed to meet at friend, who arrived with a second unknown person, under the pretence
of selling a half-ounce of marijuana. The victim and his friend began to wrestle for control of car keys, when his friend
grabbed the marijuana and ran back to his vehicle. The victim admitted purchasing the marijuana from a local dispensary even
though he does not posses a marijuana card.
The victim was released pending charges for distribution of marijuana. The case is still under investigation.
Heroes welcomed home during ceremony at Eaglecrest High School On March 31, 2010, Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office and Officers from Aurora Police Department had the great honor of welcoming
400 National Guard troops home after being deployed in Iraq for the past 12-months. Upon arriving at Buckley Air Force Base,
the troops were escorted to Eaglecrest High School where they held a small ceremony, then reunited with their families.
