In early November, Sheriff's Office K9 deputies assisted agents with the Front Range Drug Task Force and the DEA with a stop
of several suspects that were possibly dealing illegal narcotics. The stop led to the arrest of five suspects as well as
a seizure of $2000.00 and over 15 pounds of suspected methamphetamine. The narcotics had an estimated street value of $255,000.
In mid-November, Deputies responded to the Cherry Creek Shooting Range regarding two females that had each sustained a gun-shot
wound. One of the females was fatally wounded while the other was transported to a local hospital where she later recovered.
Throughout the month, the Sheriff's Office experienced a high volume of residential burglaries in the Piney Creek subdivision
and surrounding area. Members of the Sheriff's Office IMPACT team conducted surveillance in the area and developed a suspect.
Through coordination with the suspect’s probation officer, a warrant was issued for his arrest at which time he was contacted
and taken into custody. Associates of the suspect also implicated him in several of the area burglaries.
