Treasurer's Functions

  • Collection of property taxes on real estate, personal property and centrally assessed property, pursuant to state statute.
  • Distribute tax revenue to nine school districts, 13 cities and towns, 10 tax increment districts, and 322 special districts, pursuant to state statute.
  • Provide original and delinquent tax notices to all property owners.
  • Provide receipts upon request.
  • Produce certificates of taxes due as requested.
  • Administer tax deferral program pursuant to statute.
  • Act as bond agent.
  • Invest all available funds.
  • The Treasurer is a board member for the County's retirement plan.
